The Carbon Reduction Workshop Series

NYC is leading the way in carbon reduction efforts.

Local Law 97 is an ambitious, unprecedented building emissions policy designed to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by imposing strict carbon limits on NYC buildings.

There are roughly one million buildings in NYC, and the buildings sector accounts for about 70% of our GHG emissions. Local Law 97 is projected to reduce the City’s carbon emissions by 6 million tons by 2030.

Local Law 97 is integral to the NYC’s mission of reducing 80% of GHG emissions by the year 2050 (80×50) and eventually achieving carbon neutrality.
