LL97 Workshop: Your Emissions and Plan

How do I measure my carbon emissions, and what projects make the most sense for my building?

About

In this hands-on 2.5 hour workshop, you will learn how to calculate more than just your building’s carbon emissions, becoming mindful also of building metrics, annual costs, and carbon projections over the next 10+ years.

Cost: Free
Duration: 2.5 hours
Location: Online

This workshop includes two 20-minute break-out room activities:

Activity 1: you will team up with 3-4 fellow attendees to add sample building data into the LL97 BE-Ex calculator to determine the building’s estimated carbon summary, annual cost summary, and building metrics.

Activity 2: each 3-4 member team will assemble a Deep Energy Retrofit package using our easy-to-use tool to see how various cost-effective project combinations could help you reach Local Law 97 compliance in the next 10+ years.

You will need:

  • A computer with a stable internet connection
  • An audio connection, to talk with your team members during the two activities
  • A video connection (strongly preferred)

To actively participate in activities (technical experience is not required)

By the end of the workshop, you will become familiar with projected emissions penalties and how to reduce your exposure by completing energy retrofit projects. You will also gain practical experience analyzing sample building data using the LL97 BE-Ex calculator and the BPL retrofit spreadsheet tool to develop asset plans for multiple scenarios at your building.

This course is brought to you by the NYC Department of Buildings in partnership with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, the NYC Sustainability Help Center and the CUNY Building Performance Lab.
